NL NDP Leader Jim Dinn (MHA, St. John’s Centre), offers the following statement on the passing of the Honourable Derrick Bragg, M.H.A. for Fogo Island-Cape Freels:
“I extend my heartfelt condolences to Derrick Bragg’s family. Derrick exemplified a rare sense of service to community, not only in his eight years as an M.H.A., but in his entire life. Before he ever was elected to the House of Assembly, he worked and volunteered for decades in his own community and in the province.
“As a Minister, he was dedicated and open to discussion. As an M.H.A., he was respectful with a quick sense of humour and a generous collegiality. He was a decent and down to earth person.
“He will be missed in the House, his community, and the province.”
