NDP MHA Jordan Brown (Labrador West) grilled government today in the House of Assembly on how Labradorians still face barriers accessing care.
He pointed out that just this morning, a former provincial Liberal leader said that people in this province have yet to see real benefits from the $300 million Ottawa provided for healthcare. Brown says that is even more evident for the people of Labrador West, and all of the Big Land, who continue to face barriers accessing all forms of healthcare.
“Meanwhile, NL Health Services is contracting out diagnostic imaging in Lab-Grenfell, we’re still relying on private agency nurses, and Labrador West is still waiting for government to recruit physicians for our family care team.”
“Where did this $300 million go, and why has Labrador yet to see improved access to care?” Brown asked the Minister.
