Join the Executive

At Convention in November, delegates will elect a new Executive to serve for a two-year term.
​Between Conventions, an elected Executive manages the affairs of the Party. 

If you're interested in serving on the executive here’s what you need to do:
 
1. Consult Articles 9, 10, 11, and 12 of the Constitution to review the roles and responsibilities of Executive.
 
2.  Familiarize yourself with the duties and time commitments of Executive positions, as well as the fiduciary responsibility (such as confidentiality and loyalty) expected of Executive members. 

 

3. When you become a member of your executive, you are making a commitment to build and grow our party. If you have questions about the roles, time commitments, etc., please email info@nl.ndp.ca, and a member of the Executive will answer your questions.

4. Email info@nl.ndp.ca if you are interested in a particular Executive position.
 
5. If you decide to stand for election for a position, you must complete the nomination form (request the Executive Nomination form at info@nl.ndp.ca).  
 
6. Deadline for advance nominations is Thursday, October 26, 2023. 

NOTE: Nominations from the floor will also be accepted when elections are being conducted at Convention.
 
7. A slate of candidates for Executive positions will be made available to members in advance of Elections.  Executive elections will be conducted at Convention. Each Nominated candidate will have 2 minutes to speak to Convention in advance of voting for the position.
