New Democrats will keep fighting for people in this province

Leader Alison Coffin says voting safely on election day is the best way to make your voice heard ST. JOHN'S – Today NDP leader Alison Coffin recommitted to making life more affordable for people left behind by decades of Liberal and Conservative decisions.

"People are worried about the future of the province and they're really questioning Mr. Furey's decision to go to an election in the middle of the winter, mid-pandemic. Even before the growing public health concerns, Newfoundlanders and Labradorians were disappointed he called an election without letting people see the Liberal's plan in the secret Moya Greene report," said Coffin. "Throughout the campaign, the Liberals have done little to convince people they won't cut services we all rely on or reduce jobs to balance the books at our expense.

"It's more important than ever for people to make their voices heard about the future of our province by voting on Election day."

New Democrats are encouraging residents of the province to be safe, listen to public health advice and be extra vigilant about following the protocols set out by Elections NL while voting this weekend.

"We know there is a lot at stake for the future of the province. Newfoundlanders and Labradorians are worried about being able to afford a good life here at home. Instead of making decisions that benefit a select few, every New Democrat elected will fight for the issues that matter to you and your family."
