NDP Leader Alison Coffin speaking to the passing of Prince Philip expressed her deepest of sympathies to Her Majesty and members of the Royal Family. The Duke of Edinburgh lead a life dedicated to supporting a number of charities and groups such as the World Wildlife Fund and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards, as well as a lifetime of dedication in support of Her Majesty the Queen.
“On behalf of the NL NDP Caucus, and the NDP, I would like to extend our sincere condolences to Her Majesty the Queen, and the Royal Family,” Coffin said today. “A life dedicated to serving the people is one that requires a tremendous amount sacrifices to one’s personal life.”
Speaking to the legacy of the late Prince, Coffin outlined the impacts his patronage has had right here in our province helping to shape thousands of youth. The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award NL is an active youth organization in the province that supports participants in personal and social development.
“I have met people across this province who attribute many of their skills and successes to what they learned participating in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards NL,” said Coffin.
