"It is unfortunate that the provincial government continues to devalue the vital work being done by a wide range of healthcare professionals under the Association of Allied Health Professionals. It is this type of behaviour on the part of government that has created problems with retention of critical skill sets in our healthcare system.
"The work that members of the Association of Allied Health Professionals do is every bit as vital to our health care system and to the health of people as physicians and nurses and should be recognized as such. It is unfortunate that the Association has had to walk away from the bargaining table because their concerns are being ignored by the employer and by the Liberal government.
"Fair pay, work-life balance, and respect are not too much to expect. Decades of disrespect, cuts, and benefits reductions have created the crisis across our medical system.
"You have my support and the support of the NL NDP. Like you, we believe government can and must do better."
