Brown Questions Government on Healthcare: November 12th

For Immediate Release

November 12, 2024

NDP MHA Jordan Brown (Labrador West) challenged government on its commitment to healthcare recruitment and retention today in the House of Assembly.

Brown then spoke specifically about the recruitment and retention of nurses, and how graduate students continue to feel neglected by government. He also states that the Registered Nurses Union has come forward to say that Internationally Educated Nurses recruited to this province, who were promised full time registered nursing positions, are finding that the reality is very different. It is clear government is breaking that promise. Brown asked, “Why is it so hard for nurses to get a job when we are in such desperate need of them?”

Brown asked repeatedly without getting a clear answer from the Minister.
