NDP MHA for Labrador West, Jordan Brown, released the following statement on the opening of The Future of Lab West Summit:
“I would like to congratulate the Labrador West Chamber of Commerce for initiating and hosting this important summit. I am looking forward to participating in panel discussions on energy, mining, health care, housing, and travel among other topics.
It’s with great pride that I welcome Jim Dinn, Leader of Newfoundland and Labrador’s NDP, as our guest to the region for the entire summit.
This summit provides an opportunity for great discussion that recognizes how important Labrador West is to the province. Our communities were built on generations of people who each continue to do the hard work to ensure the future of this beautiful region we call home.
Since I have been elected I have been talking about the issues of the district. Our need for more electrical power, retention of nurses, doctors and other health care professionals, teacher retention, MTAP, and the housing crisis we are experiencing. I look forward to talking about concerns, solutions and opportunities.”
Brown is giving a welcome address on Wednesday morning.
The Summit will take place Feb 26-28 2024, at the Wabush Hotel.
