The Newfoundland and Labrador New Democratic Party (NL NDP) is proud to announce that Darian Vincent has been officially nominated as the party’s candidate in Harbour Grace-Port de Grave for the 2025 provincial election, and Josh Meadus has been officially nominated as the party’s candidate in Ferryland for the 2025 provincial election.

Born and raised in Victoria, British Columbia, Vincent now calls Bay Roberts home. Since moving to Newfoundland and Labrador, he has grown deeply connected to the province and its people, and has seen firsthand how government inaction on issues like the rising cost of living and the state of healthcare is leaving too many behind. He says it’s time to be part of the change he believes this province urgently needs.

“I’m running to make sure working people have a voice in the decisions that affect their lives,” said Vincent. “We need bold action on housing and healthcare, and I’m proud to stand with the NL NDP to fight for a more just and equitable future for everyone in Harbour Grace–Port de Grave.”

A lifelong resident of the district, having lived in both Bay Bulls and the Goulds, Meadus has been actively involved in his community for over 20 years. He has given back through his volunteer work with the Goulds Lions Club, the Royal Canadian Army Cadets, and as President of the MUN History Society. Josh is ready to bring fresh, energetic leadership to a district that has long been overlooked in the House of Assembly.

“I’m proud to call Ferryland home, and I want to be a strong voice for the people who live here,” said Josh. “This district deserves a representative who will show up, listen, and fight for working people. I’m ready to bring that commitment to the House of Assembly.”

NL NDP Leader Jim Dinn says he welcomes both Darian and Josh to the team of candidates for the upcoming election. “Darian and Josh represent the kind of leadership we need in this province, grounded in community, driven by values, and ready to fight for everyday people,” said Dinn. “I look forward to working with them both as we build a stronger future for Newfoundland and Labrador together.”
