New Democratic Party to host Leadership Candidate debate



Today the New Democratic Party of Newfoundland and Labrador announced the date of a Leadership Candidate debate.

The Leadership Candidate debate will take place Sunday, March 25, 2:00-3:30 p.m. at the main lecture theatre of the Bruneau Centre, Memorial University St. John’s campus. The debate is hosted by the NL NDP and NDP MUN.

Former Radio Canada/CBC Reporter, Françoise Enguehard will moderate the debate. The debate will be open to the public to attend and free of charge.

Alison Coffin and Gerry Rogers are seeking the leadership of the Party.

Alison Coffin is an economist dedicated to advancing responsible public policy and excellence in governance. Gerry Rogers was first elected in 2011 and again in 2015 and has served over six years as NDP MHA for St. John’s Centre.

The NL NDP Leadership Convention is taking place April 7 and 8 at the St. John’s Convention Centre with the new Leader being announced April 8. All those who became party members by March 9, 2018, will be eligible to cast a ballot in the leadership contest.
