The Newfoundland and Labrador New Democratic Party (NL NDP) has announced Marius Normore as the party’s candidate in St. John’s West for the 2025 provincial election.
With over eight years of professional experience in health and safety, Marius Normore has worked across the mining, academic, and research sectors. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Memorial University and a Safety Engineering Technology diploma from the College of the North Atlantic. He is currently expanding his skills by completing a Business Administration Certificate. Normore currently lives in St. John’s West and has spent most of his adult life in the city of St. John’s.
“I am running for the NDP because we need real, meaningful change for everyday people in this province, and the NDP is the only party committed to that," said Normore. “As a father of a 13-month-old, I think every day about the kind of Newfoundland and Labrador we’re building for the next generation. I want to fight for a province where families can thrive, where workers are treated with respect, and where everyone has access to the support and opportunity they deserve.”
NL NDP Leader Jim Dinn Marius Normore’s professional expertise and lived experience are exactly what’s needed in the House of Assembly.
“I’m proud to have Marius Normore on our team,” said Dinn. “As a father of a young child, Marius knows firsthand the challenges families are facing—from the rising cost of living to the lack of access to affordable childcare. He brings a deep commitment to building a fairer Newfoundland and Labrador, where families are supported, workers are respected, and no one is left behind. Marius is exactly the kind of person we need in the House of Assembly fighting for everyday people.”
