Dinn Pushes Premier to Take Key Issues Forward at First Ministers’ Meeting

Ahead of the First Ministers’ meeting, Newfoundland and Labrador NDP Leader Jim Dinn (St. John’s Centre) wrote to Premier Wakeham, urging him to ensure that key issues affecting Newfoundlanders and Labradorians are prioritized.

Amid ongoing federal announcements of cuts to programs and the public service, Dinn said it was critical to remind the Premier of pressing priorities that directly affect people in the province, including pharmacare, the Canada Housing Benefit, a guaranteed basic income pilot project for Newfoundland and Labrador, and $10-a-day child care.

“I am certain that these issues are common among provinces and governments of all political stripes. We face the same challenges,” Dinn concluded. “With collaboration from your counterparts, they will become easier to solve while saving time and resources.”
